Chief Operations Officer

Annie has served in her current role since November 2023. In this capacity, she oversees daily operations and manages key supporting functions, including supply chain, procurement, transport, infrastructure, and human resources & administration. Her work is centered on strategic leadership, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring the mission-aligned delivery of services to support national health priorities.

Professional Background

Annie is a seasoned leader with extensive experience across international NGOs, the public sector, and private industry:

  • Internal Leadership Growth: Between 2021 and 2023, she served as the Director of Human Resources & Administration and previously as the HR Manager at PIH Malawi, where she led the development of policies to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Public Sector Executive Experience: Prior to joining PIH, Annie held the position of Director of Human Resources & Administration at the Blantyre Water Board, a statutory government agency.
  • Global NGO Expertise: Her career includes significant roles with several international organizations, including Save the Children and the Research Triangle Institute (RTI).

Strategic Oversight & Operational Excellence

As Chief Operating Officer, Annie collaborates closely with the Executive Leadership Team to execute operational plans and budgets. Her strategic focus remains on:

  • System Strengthening: Aligning staff and management to achieve organizational goals with a specific focus on Neno District.
  • Functional Management: Directing the complex logistics and administrative frameworks that allow clinical programs to function effectively.
  • Policy Implementation: Driving the development and monitoring of strategic plans that support the Ministry of Health’s national priorities.
