Brown David Khongo

Non-Communicable Dieseases and Mental Health Director

Brown Khongo has served as the lead for the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) and Mental Health department at Partners In Health (Abwenzi Pa Za Umoyo) since November 2024. A medical doctor by profession and a dedicated global health advocate, he provides strategic oversight and operational management for some of PIH Malawi’s most critical clinical programs.

Professional Background

Brown has a deep-rooted history with PIH/APZU, having served in multiple high-impact leadership roles between January 2019 and October 2024:

  • Clinical Leadership: Previously served as the Site Program Lead and Acting Medical Director.
  • Operational Management: Held the position of Secondary Healthcare Manager and served the community as a Medical Officer.
  • Global Health Mentorship: He is a Health, Equity, Action and Leadership (HEAL) Global Health Fellow through the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and serves as a mentor and facilitator for the HEAL national program in Malawi.

In his current role, Brown focuses on transforming the landscape of NCD and Mental Health care through:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building strategic partnerships to enhance health service delivery.
